Wave Cycle

Next, we were asked to use the template of a wave cycle i.e. a swaying line, to build a short animation around. The line, once animated, curved one way, then the other, looping back to the start position.

I chose to overlay this with a simple flower design. It's interesting to see how merely a moving line can give an object energy and little bit of character.

Once I had the form of the flower sketched out, I added a touch of texture to the background and finally I wanted a shadow to show some dimension. This was the most difficult part and not really part of the assignment but I wanted to keep it interesting for myself. I tried to track where I believed the shadow would be, given the direction of an invisible sun.
